Introducing “Built Without a Net”
When Business Gets Real: Why I Launched Built Without a Net
Every business owner reaches a point where things get messy. Team dynamics shift, compliance surprises pop up, and leadership decisions test everything you’ve built.
That’s where Built Without a Net comes in.
I’m Brad Foley, a business owner and fractional HR partner with more than 30 years of experience. But let me be clear—this podcast isn’t just about HR. It’s about the full spectrum of challenges that leaders face: strategic, operational, and people-related.
I started HR Value Partners in 2013 after walking away from the security of corporate life. My family and I cashed out our savings, set aside one year of living expenses, and said: make it work or go back and get a “real job.” That decision shaped my perspective. Running a business without a safety net isn’t just theory for me—it’s lived experience.
What I’ve learned along the way is this: being good at your craft—HR, sales, manufacturing, finance—doesn’t automatically make you good at running a business. You have to wear every hat, figure things out as you go, and seek out support you didn’t know you’d need.
That’s why I created Built Without a Net. This show is designed to be a sounding board for leaders who are navigating those same real-world challenges. Here’s what you can expect:
Conversations with leaders and business owners who have faced tough situations and learned from them.
Solo episodes where I break down leadership issues, compliance changes, and lessons from my consulting work.
Practical insights you can apply in your own business—not templates or theory, but real stories that highlight what works (and what doesn’t).
Some episodes will be heavy, some fun, others purely strategic. But all of them will be real.
➡️ Built Without a Net is available on all major streaming services, including Apple Podcasts. If you like what you hear, I’d be grateful if you’d consider leaving a 5-star review—it helps more leaders discover the show and join the conversation.
